Dr. Holger Horn succeeds Dr. Louis Hagen as CEO of Münchener Hypothekenbank

After 13 years at the helm of Münchener Hypothekenbank (MünchenerHyp), Dr. Louis Hagen is to hand over chairmanship of the Board of Management to Dr. Holger Horn with effect from 1 January 2023. 

Dr. Louis Hagen joined MünchenerHyp’s Board of Management in 2009. The Supervisory Board appointed him as Spokesman of the Board of Management in 2010 and as Chairman in 2016. From 2016 to 2022 he also served as President of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp).

“Dr. Louis Hagen has steered the Bank confidently and successfully through the difficult years of the financial market and sovereign debt crisis. His strategic foresight has also enabled him to strengthen MünchenerHyp’s market position and earnings power and turn it into an international property bank,” said Dr. Hermann Starnecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. 

Dr. Holger Horn has been a member of the Board of Management of MünchenerHyp since 2019 and its Deputy Chairman since 1 January 2022.

“During his time on the Board, Dr. Holger Horn has helped to shape and drive the growth strategy of MünchenerHyp,” said Dr. Starnecker. “He is an experienced leader with a strategic mindset who will guide the Bank successfully through the current upheavals on the property markets and property financing markets and take it forward on a sustainable basis,” Dr. Starnecker continued.

From the start of the new year, MünchenerHyp’s Board of Management will consist of Dr. Holger Horn (CEO), Ulrich Scheer (CFO) and Markus Wirsen (CRO).
