MünchenerHyp signs contract for acquisition of M.M.Warburg & CO Hypothekenbank
Münchener Hypothekenbank eG (MünchenerHyp) has today signed a contract to acquire M.M.Warburg & CO Hypothekenbank AG (Warburg Hypothekenbank). It plans to purchase all shares held by the previous owners, M.M.Warburg & CO and Landeskrankenhilfe V.V.a.G.
‘The planned acquisition will give us a low-risk loan portfolio that suits our bank very well. At the same time, this attractive transaction will allow us to achieve positive economic impacts,’ says Dr Louis Hagen, Chief Executive Officer of MünchenerHyp.
Warburg Hypothekenbank offers its clients products for financing commercial property, with a focus on residential, office and retail properties in Germany. The total assets held by Warburg Hypothekenbank as of 30 June 2022 were approximately EUR 1.8 billion.
The transaction is still subject to approval at the MünchenerHyp delegates’ meeting and to the official approvals that are required. Once the acquisition is concluded, the plan is to integrate Warburg Hypothekenbank quickly in order to achieve operational synergies. The parties have agreed not to disclose any further details of the transaction.
