Strong demand for Münchener Hypothekenbank’s second green benchmark Mortgage Pfandbrief
Münchener Hypothekenbank's second green mortgage Pfandbrief in
benchmark format with a volume of € 500 million met with broad and brisk demand. The
Pfandbrief is collateralised with property loans that meet the Association of German Pfandbrief
Banks’ (vdp) minimum standards for green Pfandbriefe.
With a maturity of seven years and two months, the issue was priced with a spread of 8 basis
points above mid-swap. The price reflected investors’ unbroken strong interest in green
Pfandbriefe.
"The good price and the high demand confirm our early focus on sustainable refinancing.
Green Pfandbriefe represent a significant part of our strategy," said Dr. Holger Horn, CEO of
Münchener Hypothekenbank.
A total of 35 orders were placed from 9 countries. Regionally, most of the volume issued (75
percent) went to German investors, followed by investors from Benelux countries with 13
percent. The largest investor groups were banks, with 64 percent of the total amount issued,
while central banks accounted for 21 percent and asset managers 15 percent.
The transaction was lead managed by ABN AMRO, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, DZ Bank,
NORD LB and UBS.
The rating agency Moody's gives MünchenerHyp’s mortgage Pfandbriefe its highest rating of
Aaa.
